Caveat
Sherlock Holmes is in the public domain, as are the works of H.P. Lovecraft and Alexander Dumas. However, freshly-created, original fiction is the copyright of the author. Note that my work adresses adult themes, and is therefore not recommended for YA or children.

Tales of the Middle Stars Vol. 1: Encounters

For the first time, Mike Adamson's "Tales of the Middle Stars" stories, forty-three of which have been published in the last decade in magazines and anthologies, are brought together, including brand new material, in a superb anthology. Here is the story of human expansion among the stars of the stellar neighbourhood, as we encounter alien civilisations, and life forms beyond our comprehension. Twelve stories range across two hundred years of history, and from 22nd century Earth to the depths of space where new worlds await our touch, through diplomacy and conflict, to mystery and madness. Here is a first collection which lays the foundations of a vast saga stretching down the centuries and reaching toward the deep-space destiny of our kind...

Of Old Gods and Dreamlands

Ever since the founding of Arkham House Press in 1939, the writing of pastiches based on the works of H P Lovecraft has been a minor industry in its own right. Mike Adamson joins this sub-genre with a first collection of twelve short stories, being seven direct pastiches and five tales in a more generic cosmic horror vein. Many of these pieces have seen print previously in the pages of Lovecraftiana magazine and various anthologies, and continue Lovecraft's themes in both the Cthulhu Mythos and the Dreamlands saga, with tales reaching from the distant past to a future among the stars.

Find sequels to Celephais, Polaris, The Other Gods and The Doom That Came to Sarnath, and tales exploring the horrors of Innsmouth and the deeper secrets held in the vaults of Miskatonic University, and how the world might be should Cthulhu rise again...

This volume is coming soon from Belanger Books (its Kickstarter campaign is underway at the time of the current upload) and will be available a hardback, paperback and digital formats.

Crimson Blade

Since 2014, Mike Adamson has written a series of short stories chronicling the life and times of the vampire changeling Lucinda Crane. Five centuries old, a warrior of superlative skill and the mental clarity of a mystic, she has dedicated her life to protecting the mortals among whom she was born from the occult threats in which modern society declines to believe. Other vampires are her prey, along with inkubus, dragon, elemental and revenant. But the vampire world is a complex one, and there are more kinds of vampire than those which hide from the light and thirst for blood.

Here for the first time are collected ten tales of modern urban fantasy, most of which are previously unpublished, bringing to life a world unseen — the hidden lives of the vampire society that has always coexisted with our own, and the delicate balance in which they do so. Mighty, ancient and immortal as vampires may be, they know the danger of plodding, materialistic mortals, and will preserve their anonymity at any cost.

Crimson Blade was released by Hiraeth Books in January, 2025. Crimson Blade can be purchased through Amazon.
