About Jade Galleries Licensing Commissions Copyright Contact |
Thank you so much for your interest in my art, and I look forward to working with you to create a new and personalized project. Please contact me about scheduling and budgeting. I work on a sliding scale, which means that indie writers and folks building personal websites will be billed on more modest rates rates. Please set out clearly what you want/need; include any rough sketches you've prepared to outline your vision; and by all means let me know how you're bndgeted for the project. I can spend an hour or ten hours on your image(s). The quality you'll receive will always be high, but as with all things, the more time is invested in a project, the richer it gets. If you're looking for something very quick and inexpensive, consider licensing a "ready-to-use" piece -- I call this COVER WORKS ... click here to see what's available at this time. Also, please do ask about the availability of any of the images you see on this site. Remember that when you license a piece, it's used 'as is' -- just as it appears here. If you want me to re-render, repaint, reframe, redesign, that's not a license, that's a commission! You're wondering "how much for how much?" The scale slides a long way up and down! Licensing a simple "off the peg" image starts at $20 for indie writers ($50 for publishing businesses). The simplest commission would be something like a book cover where you've supplied a sketch outline, including specifying the desired colors and fonts you need. The art can usually be done in a day or so, and you're starting at something like $30 and nudging that number upwards as you nip and tuck and tweak at the image. (Put simply, if you have me working for four or five hours, time and price are related closer than kissin' cousins! So it's smart to set out with a very clear idea in mind of what you need, right down to the font, and we'll work from there. The more specific your instructions are, the easier and faster my job is, which means the better you'll like the final account.) I'll always supply multiple-choice proofs before the final render is set to go. The render "cooks" the art. Afterward it can be painted, recolored, cropped and so on, but if we go back and re-design from scratch, it's akin to having your artist start with a fresh canvas and go again. In other words, CG art is done with a computer, not by a computer ... thanks so much for keeping this in mind! |
